Brochure & Catalogue Design

Brochure Design

We plan and design company profiles, product brochures and catalogues that read clearly page by page, print correctly and work just as well as a lightweight PDF on WhatsApp or email.

What should a business brochure include?

Brochure design is the planning and layout of a multi-page document that presents a company, its products or its services in detail. It combines structured content, product imagery, specifications and brand elements into a format suitable for printing and for sharing digitally as a PDF, often used in sales meetings, exhibitions and email follow-ups.

A brochure has more room than any other sales tool, which is both its strength and its risk. Given twelve or twenty pages, many businesses fill them with paragraphs about the company’s history and leave product details buried at the back. Buyers, especially dealers and overseas importers, usually want the opposite: what you make, the specifications, certifications and how to order.

We structure brochures around how the reader will use them:

  • Company profiles that explain capability, facilities, quality processes and clients’ industries
  • Product brochures and catalogues with consistent product pages, specification tables and code numbers
  • Two outputs: a print-ready file for the press and a compressed, interactive PDF for sharing

For a single-page campaign or event piece, flyer design is usually the better fit.

Who needs a professionally designed brochure

  • Manufacturers

Engineering, chemical, textile and machinery companies that sell through dealers and need detailed product catalogues.

  • Exporters

Businesses presenting capability and products to overseas buyers, where the brochure often arrives before any meeting.

  • Service firms

Consultancies, contractors and institutions that need a company profile for tenders and proposals.

  • Real estate and hospitality

Projects, hotels and venues that rely on visual brochures to explain spaces, amenities and plans.

Why many brochures don’t get read

Brochures are often designed by filling pages rather than planning them. The result is dense text, inconsistent product pages and photos of varying quality placed wherever they fit. A buyer flipping through it can’t quickly find the product range, sizes or certifications they were looking for.

Digital sharing adds another problem. The print file can run to large sizes, so someone exports a quick version that is either too heavy to send on WhatsApp or so compressed that text becomes blurry. Product updates then mean reopening a file nobody can edit properly.

Planning the content and page structure first, building reusable templates and producing separate print and digital outputs solves most of these issues and makes future updates far easier.

  • Plan the page flow and content outline before designing
  • Build master templates for product and section pages
  • Present specifications in readable tables and icons
  • Prepare separate files for print and for digital sharing
  • Keep source files organised so updates are quick

Process

Our Brochure Design process

  1. Purpose and audience

We agree who will read the brochure, in what situation, and what action they should take after reading it.

  2. Content outline

We map every page, list the content and photos needed, and flag gaps such as missing specifications or images.

  3. Design of key spreads

The cover and two or three representative spreads are designed first to set the visual direction.

  4. Full layout and proofing

All pages are laid out, then proofed by you for content accuracy, especially specifications and codes.

  5. Print and digital output

We export the print-ready file to your printer’s requirements and a separate lightweight PDF for sharing.

FAQs

Brochure Design FAQs

Still have a question?

Ask us directly — you’ll get a straight answer from the team that does the work.

Do you write the brochure content too?

We guide the content structure and can edit and tighten the copy you provide. Where full copywriting is required, it can be added to the scope and agreed in the proposal. Technical specifications, certifications and product data must come from your team, because accuracy there is something only you can confirm.

What files will I receive for my brochure?

You will receive a print-ready PDF in CMYK at 300 dpi with bleed and crop marks, and a separate compressed PDF for digital sharing. Where agreed, we also provide the packaged InDesign source files with linked images and fonts, so future updates can be made by us or by another designer.

Can you use our existing product photos?

Yes, and we usually clean them up with background removal, colour correction and consistent cropping. If photos are low resolution or inconsistent, we will tell you honestly which ones will not print well. In those cases, a product photoshoot or carefully chosen licensed stock images are options we can discuss.

How are revisions handled for a multi-page brochure?

Revision rounds are agreed in the proposal. We first get approval on the cover and sample spreads, so later rounds focus on content corrections rather than changes in direction. We ask for all feedback in one consolidated document per round, which avoids conflicting comments from different team members.

Will you help with printing the brochure?

We prepare files to your printer’s specifications and can coordinate with them on paper, binding and page count, which affects how pages are arranged. Printing is quoted and billed by the printer directly. Page counts for stapled brochures usually need to be in multiples of four, and we plan for that from the start.
