Many SEO audits still follow a checklist that was designed years ago: missing meta descriptions, broken links, image alt text and page speed scores. Those checks still matter, but they no longer give a full picture. Search now includes AI-generated answers, new performance metrics and stronger trust signals. If you are planning an SEO audit in Ahmedabad for 2027, this post explains the additional checks it should include and why.

Use it to brief an auditor, review a proposal or check whether your last audit missed anything important.

Why the Classic Audit Is No Longer Enough

A classic audit focuses on whether search engines can crawl your pages and whether those pages follow basic on-page rules. That foundation is still necessary. But visibility now also depends on whether AI systems can access and trust your content, whether your brand is consistently described across the web, and whether your site performs well for real users on real devices.

New Check 1: AI Search Visibility

The audit should test whether your business appears in AI Overviews and popular AI assistants for your main services and questions. The auditor can run a set of typical buyer questions and record whether your brand or pages are mentioned or cited, and what is said about you.

The goal is a baseline, not a score. Repeating the same checks later shows whether your visibility is improving.

New Check 2: Crawler Access for Search and AI

Robots.txt rules, firewall settings and security plugins sometimes block crawlers without anyone noticing. A modern audit should confirm that Googlebot and Bingbot can reach key pages, and record which AI crawlers are allowed or blocked so you can make a deliberate choice. Some sites also experiment with an llms.txt file; it is optional and not used by Google Search, so treat it as low priority.

New Check 3: Real-User Performance Including INP

Lab speed scores are useful, but the audit should also review field data from Search Console's Core Web Vitals report, including Interaction to Next Paint. This shows how your site behaves for actual visitors, many of whom in Ahmedabad use mobile data on mid-range phones. Our guide to Core Web Vitals explains each metric.

New Check 4: Entity and Brand Consistency

Search systems try to understand your business as an entity: its name, location, services, people and reputation. The audit should check that your name, address, phone and description are consistent across your website, Google Business Profile, directories and social profiles, and that Organization or LocalBusiness structured data matches.

New Check 5: Content Trust Signals

Beyond keywords, the audit should look at whether your content shows real experience and accountability:

  • Are authors or reviewers named on articles and guides?
  • Do service pages include specific, accurate details?
  • Are there clear About and Contact pages with full business details?
  • Is outdated content still live with old prices or discontinued products?
  • Are there thin or duplicate pages that weaken the site overall?

New Check 6: Reviews and Local Presence

For local businesses, the audit should review your Google Business Profile in detail, including categories, attributes, photos, review volume, review replies and recent public edits. Review content increasingly feeds summaries, so recurring complaints are worth flagging too.

New Check 7: Enquiry Tracking

If AI answers reduce some clicks, measuring enquiries becomes even more important. The audit should confirm that Google Analytics 4 records form submissions, calls, WhatsApp clicks and other key actions, and that consent settings are not silently blocking data. Our guide to Google Analytics 4 for business covers the setup.

What These Checks Mean for Audit Scope and Time

Adding these checks does make an audit slightly longer, mainly because AI visibility testing, brand consistency review and tracking checks involve manual work rather than automated crawling. For a small business site, the extra effort is modest. For a multi-branch business or a large catalogue, it can add a few days.

The trade-off is worthwhile. A classic audit might tell you that pages load slowly and some titles are too long, while a 2027-ready audit can also reveal that a security plugin is blocking crawlers, that your address differs across platforms, or that enquiries from WhatsApp are not being recorded at all. Those findings often matter far more to your business.

How to Prepare for Your Next Audit

  1. Give the auditor access to Search Console, Analytics 4 and your Google Business Profile.
  2. List your ten most important services or products and the questions buyers ask about them.
  3. Share any recent changes: redesigns, plugin updates, hosting moves or traffic drops.
  4. Ask for findings to be prioritised by business impact, not just listed.
